Back Online

Our internet connection went down and we just got it back up. Poor Julia couldn't Skype with anyone for several days, but I wonder if things would have been so different anyway. I can no longer keep her still to photograph her and the idea of subduing her long enough to look at the computer camera seems like a challenge beyond my reach. She only wants to crawl, grab and chew on things. If interested, I have lots of pictures that look like the below:

We have had an eventful few days. She is pulling up on anything that stays still long enough – including her brothers which after scaling them, she promptly gives a bite on their cheek or nose – making good use of her new tooth. While standing, she continually keeps her toes curled under, so it is a real mystery that she remains upright.

Here she is trying to get the hang of it.

And here, she is all business.

She continues to chirp “pah pah” all day long, much to the amusement of everyone we pass in the street. The question Leonardo poses in Italian means: “Who is your favorite person in the world?” Obviously his favorite game. She never disappoints. The answer is always the same.

She is loving bath time and yes...that is my hand – poised - ready to catch her. I imagine that some of you are already snickering behind my back about it. Problem is – pillows are rather impractical to put in the bathtub.

Let's zoom in and admire the cutest pearliest white ever.

She is now keeping us company during dinner time. She is able to feed herself (and her neck, hair and ears in case they are hungry) little pieces of boiled veggies. It is nothing but a hoot how delicately she uses those chubby little fingers to pluck up the pieces. I love it and love it and love it.

Her Nonna knit her a couple new sweaters. They are wonderful and have been added to her vast collection which numbers well over a dozen.
