Julia's 3rd Birthday

A couple shots from her birthday party - a small affair with just family, but she was elated.   Mamma covered the house in pink flowers and Julia spent the day singing "A party!" "Una festa!"

She Did THAT!!!

She made that fish all by herself.  I heard her say "mamma, look at the fish I made!" and there it was.  In all its gorgeous accurate glory.

Julia and Matteo

Little Matteo from Austria is a friend she spends lots of time with at the park and at playgroup.  She has taken him under her wing and spends time teaching him how to do things, yet also chides him when he doesn't listen to his mother.  He only understands German so he just giggles at her when he gets in trouble.

Dancing in the Streets

Who needs music?  Some sparkly lights are really all a girl needs.

Lollipops in the Piazza

A double breasted, fur collar coat - a gift from, who else?  The ever doting Zia Eva.

Explorer....Again

One can't help but wonder when the fascination with weighing plastic fruit will wear off....

About one year ago, still weighing.
Remembering that 10 moons ago she tripped on these stairs, she is pleading with the pigeon to exercise caution on the stairs.

Artsy

Can we all agree that the way she holds her marker is the cutest thing ever?  "Yust yike you, mamma", she tells me.

Rome Exploring Rome

We took Rome out for the morning, but found ourselves the victims of highly offensive encounters where people had the audacity to call Rome a dog.  Or worse yet, a wolf.  We all know that Rome has been a cat since the day Damma bought her.  Her volatile reaction to the accusations made me grateful that the people we meet generally don't speak our language.  Although an angrily wagging finger is the same in any language, I suppose.

A Walk in the Fur Coat

Seemed like the right day to hit the street in her fluffy fur coat.  Today is the Epiphany - or when the Befana comes to deliver treats stuffed in a sock.  We were happy about our chocolate and lollipops, but even happier that we had PapĂ  home with us.

Let's Take a Picture Anyway!

We didn't do anything special on this cold windy day - just trudged around the market - but let's take a picture anyway!  Damma and Dampa wanna see you - just smile girl!

Christmas in the Alps

I couldn't pry this girl out of the snow to save my life.  She loved every single freezing cold minute of it.

Fine.  10 more minutes, but then we are leaving!
