Today she had pasta for lunch, rendering bubble blowing obsolete. While recently she has been keeping her mouth firmly shut in an attempt to escape the spoon, she has now adopted a new technique: keeping her mouth wide open - accepting whatever you put in it, but closing it under no circumstances. And to her credit - it works even better. You can't swallow if you never close your mouth.

Weaning
Weaning is proving to be a trying process. Following doctor's orders, I prepare a vegetable broth with rice cereal and pureed meat (yipes). She is not a fan. She has tried it all - sealing her mouth shut, turning her head, pushing my hand away, crying, screaming and during a few desperate episodes - gagging before the spoon hit her mouth. We have tried bottles, cups and spoons of all shapes and sizes. She has decided to change strategies and while it is a more lighthearted approach - it is more diabolical in the sense that I have no way to combat it.

Starting the Engines
In the last couple of days, she has been right on the verge of crawling. She gets up on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth. The beaming look of pride is an integral part of the process - in fact - I have caught her doing it alone and even without an audience she smiles the entire time.
According to baby girl, this is the funniest game that has ever been invented.

Happy Birthday Pixie!
Seven months old today!
Why isn't Lara earning a billion dollars an hour to photograph things? The girl has talent.

We're Back
Baby girl behaved herself quite admirably on our journey there and back. A combined total of four airplanes and almost 50 hours of travel and nary a tear. She is just so very good to me.
A few gems I caught on my camera and one that I pirated from Aunt Ardith.

Here we come!
Can't post any pictures because I can't even find my little pickle under all the bags. Not to mention, with my trembling hands and sweaty palms due to my knee-shaking anxiety I wouldn't be able to pick up a camera anyway. See you tomorrow! We can't wait!
