Sweet Aunt Eva

Julia's habitually generous Aunt Eva brought over the entire inventory of H&M including this delicious little gem.

I wanted to try on the other pieces, but alas - as much as I love dressing her - she hates being dressed even more. After she naps off the sobbing jag, I will try again.

New Favorite Toy

I imagine Karen Merrill didn't buy the esperaldas with the intent of providing a most needed diaper-changing-distraction toy, but it is very appreciated none the less.

First Real Food

It was a pear, but judging from her face, one would think it was something much more sinister.

Gummy

While teething may be uncomfortable for her, I enjoy the constant gumming and 'mmmmm' sounds that it illicits.

Lil' Bookworm

The other night when Miss Blue Eyes was in a mood, I snuggled her up next to me and read the book her Aunt Lara got for her, titled "Night Night Little Pookie".   I did it only as a token gesture, never imagining it would catch her interest.  Not only did she stop fussing, she became totally still, completely silent and we read it over and over for more than 45 minutes.

An Alarming Milestone

Baby girl has just begun to exhibit displeasure when a toy is taken from her.  Tiny little foot-stamping tantrums are rendered more startling still when one sees how quickly her father caves.

It was so hot this afternoon that I couldn't bear the idea of putting her in a onsie.  Then I couldn't stand the idea of a diaper.  So, I threw her into bed as naked as the day she was born. Yums.

If she wasn't lapping her salty fingers she was licking her lips, chin and nose to get at the salt water.  She is so my little girl.

Great Big Milestone

It is official.  Little Biscottina is a certified sitter.  With help from the brothers in just a few days she has learned to sit up straight and right herself when she gets tipsy.  She is sitting, rolling over and working on her "m"s so every once in awhile variations of ma, mamma and mom can be heard.  Obviously, at less than six months it is nothing to take personally, but that doesn't stop me.  All the others have been continually changing their names based on whatever syllables she is emitting at the time.  We all have about five names each.

Milestone at the Beach

With a little help from her brothers, baby girl is now rolling over.   Sometimes it is slow going, and sometimes it is quick, but it always gets an applause.
